New Study Finds Link Between Social Media Use and Depression

Study Finds Correlation Between Social Media Use and Mental Health Issues

Researchers Call for Further Investigation

A new study has found a link between social media use and depression. The study, which was conducted by researchers at the University of Michigan, found that people who spent more time on social media were more likely to experience symptoms of depression.

The study included over 1,000 participants who were asked about their social media use and their mental health. The researchers found that people who spent more than two hours per day on social media were twice as likely to experience symptoms of depression than those who spent less than 30 minutes per day on social media.

The researchers also found that the link between social media use and depression was stronger for people who were already at risk for depression. For example, people who had a family history of depression or who had experienced traumatic events were more likely to experience symptoms of depression if they spent a lot of time on social media.

The researchers say that the study does not prove that social media use causes depression. However, they say that the findings suggest that there may be a link between the two. They are calling for further research to investigate the relationship between social media use and mental health.
